Professor Riaan Stopforth is the leader of the Stopforth Mechatronics, Robotics and Research Lab, which houses the Search and Rescue Division, the Bio-Engineering Unit and Touch Prosthetics. 

He has an interest in radio communication, digital electronics, network security, mechatronic systems, field robotics, drones/UAVs and bio-inspired robotic systems, accident investigation, ballistics, aviation, to name a few.
